CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu might end up not being represented at the National football championship for the
Santosh Trophy this month.
On the basis of their runners-up position last year Tamil Nadu were given a direct entry into the quarterfinal league to be staged in Kollam (Kerala), with their group B games scheduled for Feb 21, 23 and 25.With the warring factions within the game’s custodians in the state taking the legal route to sort out their differences, the players might well end up the biggest losers.
AIFF had last week requested the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association (TNOA) to send a team for the premier competition after a group seeking to overthrow the officials ruling the state football body moved the court.
